This course session is dedicated entirely to the description of dental disease in pet rabbits (including pathophysiology) and the intraoral treatment of incisor and cheek teeth.

This lecture focuses on the complex pathophysiology of dental disease (both congenital and acquired), including the following etiologies and patterns, as well as how these etiologies merge and overlap:

- trauma;

- insufficient occlusal wear;

- metabolic bone disease (MBD).

This extensive lecture focuses solely on the visual description of dental disease and related complications. The visual description includes dental and bony specimens as well as diagnostic imaging modalities displaying radiographic, CT, and endoscopic abnormalities. A special focus is placed on the comparison between radiographic and CT abnormalities.

The diseases discussed in this section include:

- elongation of clinical crowns;

- elongation of the reserve crowns and apices;

- periapical infections;

- osteomyelitis.

This lecture describes the indications and intraoral procedures for the treatment of dental disease of incisor teeth, including the following:

- extraction;

- coronal reduction and amputation.

Special emphasis will be placed on the extraction of incisor teeth, including:

- dental instruments;

- a practical session with videos of the step-by-step procedure;

- extraction of single incisor teeth.
